// why it matters

Left chest is the most-ordered embroidery placement in the world, and it is also the least forgiving.

At roughly 3 to 4 inches wide, a logo has to lose bulk without losing identity: letterforms tighten, gaps close and dense fills pucker thin polo knits. Our digitizers rebuild the design at final size rather than shrinking a larger file, so every element is judged at the size it will actually stitch.

Every File Format You Need

We set stitch density and underlay for the specific garment — piqué polo, oxford shirt, fleece or performance poly all behave differently under the needle. Pull compensation is tuned so circles stay round and text stays readable, and colour changes are sequenced to minimise trims and machine downtime on production runs.

// questions

Left Chest Digitizing — Answered

What size should a left chest logo be?

Most left chest logos sit between 3 and 4.5 inches wide, positioned about 7–9 inches down from the shoulder seam. We can advise on placement for your specific garment.

Why does my logo look bad when shrunk?

Scaling a large stitch file down keeps the original stitch spacing, so details collide and the fabric puckers. We rebuild the design at final size so every element is drawn for that scale.

Can you digitize small text for left chest?

Yes — we regularly digitize clean, readable lettering down to about 4mm tall using fine-column satin stitching and adjusted density.

Will it pucker on a thin polo?

Not when the underlay and density are set for knit fabrics. We adjust both for your garment type, which is why we ask what you are stitching on.
